Webquest: Job
Interview
Introduction: You have
been asked to give a presentation about yourself for a job interview. You must
do it in English and you must have good pronunciation as you will be working as
an English teacher in a primary school.
Task 1: First you
must show that you can produce difficult sounds (vowel and consonant) in
English. You can choose which sounds you can record, but make sure those are
sounds you have had difficulties with during this PAFI.
Here is a link where you can check the different
pronunciation of the English sounds with videos for better understanding:
You
can also download an application which can help you practice a bit more. Look
for:
English
Phonetic Pronunciation (Android)
Once
you have studied the sounds make sure you can pronounce them correctly.
Practice a lot because you will need it for the following activity.
Task 2: Now you have to show
evidence of what you have learnt. You have to record a video of yourself
pronouncing the three vowel sounds and the three consonant sounds. For this you
will be using this link:

is an English Tutorial
Here is a Spanish tutorial
Make
sure you give a short presentation, but do it as clear as possible. Obviously,
before you start with the activity, you will have to introduce yourself and
give some personal information (name, age, what you study, hobbies, etc.) Then
you will talk about the difficult vowel and consonant sounds. (maybe you can
include the difficult sounds in words during your presentation. You can invert the
pattern)
Finally, send the link to me in this blog as a reply,
please.
Task 3
In this part of the project you will have to show your
ability to talk about your previous experiences in order to show the
interviewers why you should be hired.
First make sure you are capable of pronouncing the verbs
correctly:
Check out this links on regular and irregular verbs in past
simple:

Irregular
verbs pronunciation:
After having practiced
the pronunciation of some of the verbs, record yourself on movenote now saying some
verbs in past simple. Keep in mind that you will have to use these verbs for
the final task. Please make sure to think about what activity you will do as a
final task in order to start thinking about the verbs you will use.
Here is an Example
Task 4
In this final task
you will have two options:
Option 1: record yourself giving
a presentation of yourself for the final job interview. Make sure to include
aspects such as personal information,
where you were born, information about your childhood, likes, dislikes and
talents, etc.
Remember you can
include as much information as possible.
Option 2: record yourself doing a conversation with a friend doing a
job interview. In this conversation you can talk about previous job experiences, abilities, likes and dislikes, etc.
Remember you can
include as much information as possible.
After choosing one
option, you will have to write what you will say and give a presentation using movenote . Make sure you send the link to me for the last day of
classes (later, I will make comments on what aspect you can improve).
